The Great Indian Kapil Show, the new show from Kapil Sharma on Netflix, has been up for a month now, and viewers' reactions to it have been ambiguous. Many thought that the comedy show's much-needed return was finally here, as they had missed their weekly fix of fun. But the majority felt that the show had lost its appeal, that it was no longer enjoyable, that the jokes were less humorous, that the celebrity interactions were boring, and that there was very little interaction with the live audience.

We spoke with actor-comedian Chandan Prabhakar, who was a key cast member of The Kapil Sharma program during its TV run, to get his opinion on the current reception the program is receiving and whether or not its move from television to over-the-top (OTT) streaming has had an impact on its appeal.
