Man of Steel, which starred Henry Cavill, was directed by Zack Snyder in 2013.

Here's what director Zack Snyder had to say when questioned about Henry Cavill's appearance in the Marvel movie during a recent interview.

Henry Cavill, who portrayed Superman in the DC universe, made a brief appearance in the recently released Marvel movies Deadpool and Wolverine. Here's what director Zack Snyder stated when The Hollywood Reporter questioned him about the cameo and the jab the movie took at his shelved Superman movie.

Zack said, "I haven't seen it yet, but I did hear about it," in response to the question of whether he had seen Henry's cameo as Wolverine in the movie. Sounds good. When it was brought up that Deadpool, a character played by Ryan Reynolds, pokes fun at Marvel's decision to treat Henry better than the "studio down the street," he even smiled.
