Avon Firemen fight 'perilous' work cuts
Firemen have accumulated to challenge 40 work cuts and a "perilous" decrease to fire motor groups.
The Avon Fire Authority casted a ballot in October to cut 40 full time fireman presents and on diminish fire motor groups from five to four firemen.
Firemen held the convention to correspond with a fire authority spending plan setting meeting in Bristol prior.
Boss fire official Simon Shilton said in October that they "won't think twice about security".
He added there would be no fire station decreases and most of the posts that will go are supposed to come from shutting position after retirements.
A 2023 report found the Avon Fire and Salvage Administration to be "lacking" at answering flames and different crises.
The Fire Units Association (FBU) has censured the cuts as "hazardous and flippant".
FBU general secretary Matt Wrack said: "Firemen know a crisis when they see one, and Avon fire authority should pay attention to the alerts of those on the cutting edge.
"The hazardous choice to cut 40 fireman presents should be revoked on safeguard firemen and save lives."
Amanda Plants, Fire Units Association South West's territorial financial officer, added: "Firemen have traversed the locale today to send a reasonable message to Avon fire authority individuals - cutting firemen from a help in emergency will cost lives.
"Less firemen mean more slow crisis reaction times and less lifesaving deterrent work.
"At the point when consistently counts, less firemen rises to more risk, risking public wellbeing.
"The fire authority should switch this choice and put resources into working on our essential assistance."
