Missing helicopter with 5 Marines on board prompts search
The Marine helicopter was accounted for late in the midst of California's 'air waterway' storm
Specialists on call have sent off a hunt mission after a U.S. military helicopter conveying five U.S. Marines disappeared on a departure from Nevada to California on Tuesday.
The Marines say they are in touch with the San Diego Province Sheriff's Office and are planning search endeavors. The CH-53E Super Steed helicopter had withdrawn Creech Flying corps Base in Nevada in transit to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar close to San Diego on Tuesday night.
"The U.S. Marine Corps is looking for five U.S. Marines relegated to Marine Weighty Helicopter Unit 361, Marine Airplanes Gathering 16, third Marine Airplanes Wing," Marine Corps Air Station Miramar affirmed to Fox News. "The Marines were flying a CH-53E Super Steed helicopter from Creech Flying corps Base to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on Feb. 6, 2024, when the airplane was accounted for past due.
"The third Marine Airplane Wing is planning search and salvage endeavors with the San Diego Province Sheriff's Specialization and the Common Air Watch. The most modern data will be delivered as it opens up," the assertion proceeded.
