Emma Stone had to have her Oscars dress patched onstage after she busted it during "I'm Just Ken."

After collecting her second Academy Award on Sunday, Emma Stone had a lot of unfinished business to take care of backstage.

Stone discussed the wardrobe incident that almost overshadowed her victory speech during the ceremony. Stone won the lead actress Oscar for her performance as the puckish Bella Baxter in "Poor Things."

Before entering the Dolby Theatre, she nervously murmured, "My dress is broken." Presenter Jessica Lange also made an effort to assist Stone in covering the back seam of her handmade Louis Vuitton gown as she ascended the steps. After hugging friend Jennifer Lawrence and accepting the medal from Michelle Yeoh, the overcome Stone began her speech by addressing the disastrous outfit.
"I believe it occurred during 'I'm Just Ken,'" she remarked, glancing at her "La La Land" co-star Ryan Gosling in the crowd. "My dress is broken," she added. "Barbie's" At the event, Stone joined Gosling in singing the Oscar-nominated song, which was performed by Ken. Gosling's performance was incredibly energetic.

Stone reaffirmed her stance in the press room when reporters asked to see her peplum-waisted column gown.

"They stitched me back in," she exclaimed with joy. "It was amazing how they sewed me back in right when I returned to the stage."

"I really believe that I nailed it during 'I'm Just Ken,'" she continued. That number really blew my mind, and I was in complete awe of Ryan and what he was accomplishing. And there I was, just going for it, but you know, things do happen. 

She did not go into additional detail about the wardrobe malfunction, and when The Times asked for an explanation on Monday, LVMH, the company that owns Louis Vuitton, did not immediately reply. (Stone eventually removed the dress for the Vanity Fair party after the show, wearing a sheer high-low gown also by Louis Vuitton.)
