Mohammed Ben Sulayem: FIA president being scrutinized for supposed endeavor to meddle over  F1 race

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, leader of motorsport's overseeing body the FIA, is being scrutinized for purportedly meddling over a Formula 1 race result.

An informant has let the FIA know that Ben Sulayem purportedly interceded to upset a punishment given to Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Ben Sulayem and the FIA have not answered demands for input.

The charge made by the informant is that Ben Sulayem called Sheik Abdullah container Hamad receptacle Isa Al Khalifa - the FIA's VP for sport for the Center East and North Africa area, who was in Saudi Arabia for the race in an authority limit - and made it clear he believed Alonso's punishment ought to be denied.
