Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently talked about why he was more interested in gathering memories than accolades in an interview.

After starring in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 2017 film Arjun Reddy, actor Vijay Deverakonda's life took a turn for the better. For his portrayal, he was honored with a Filmfare Best Actor award, which he auctioned off in 2018 to benefit the CM Relief Fund. He discussed his motivation for selling the award at auction for ₹25 lakh and why he values collecting memories over accolades in an interview with Galatta Plus. "I wish to spend memories with my children."
Vijay confessed in the interview that he was never the type of person to hoard pictures or accolades. That has now changed, though, as he has come to like looking at old photos of his parents and feels inspired to do the same for his future offspring.

He said, "I've been asking everyone around me to do it for me, and I've been this way for the past six months." I've been wanting to make memories that I can eventually tell my children about. I want to present everything to them. Up until recently, my phone would be completely erased annually. My focus has always been on living.

"I have no idea where my awards are."

In response to the question of whether he keeps his trophies on a separate shelf or puts them on his wall, Vijay said, "Some might be at the office, some my mom must have kept at home." Which are Anand's and which are mine, I'm not sure. I gave one of them to Sandeep (Reddy Vanga) out of the others. My first Filmfare Best Actor award was up for auction. It made a good amount of money, which makes me remember it more fondly than a stone in my home.
