Inside Out 2's anxiety is the anti-hero, representing the savior mentality that exists in all of us.

Although anxiety upsets the fundamental emotions in the upcoming sequel, Inside Out 2, it might not be the villain you believe it to be.

This summer, Pixar's Inside Out made a triumphant comeback with its highly anticipated sequel, Headquarters, which showcased the primary emotions of Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger within the 13-year-old Riley's head. Riley's behaviors are influenced by the emotions working together to help her be the best girl she can be. The first installment of the sequel ends with Riley about to start her adolescent life. The emotions now have to deal with the strange problem of "Puberty."

As Riley enters puberty at the beginning of Inside Out 2, new feelings are introduced, including anxiety, envy, ennui, and embarrassment. The underlying emotions are startled and unsettled by these new feelings that suddenly invade. Maya Hawke's character, anxiety, takes over the command center, causing chaos and pushing the important feelings to the back of the mind, where they run the risk of being forgotten.
