The rights to Charles Pellegrino's upcoming book Ghosts of Hiroshima have apparently been purchased by James Cameron, the well-known author of Titanic and Avatar.

According to Variety, Oscar-winning director James Cameron, who is most known for his work on the Titanic and Avatar, has reportedly acquired the rights to Charles Pellegrino's upcoming book, "Ghosts of Hiroshima."

When the "Avatar" production timeline permits, James Cameron will combine and adapt Ghosts and Pellegrino's 2015 book "Last Train From Hiroshima" into a single film.

The genuine story of a Japanese man who survived two atomic bombings during World War II will be portrayed in the movie. He had to confront another explosion as he boarded a train to Nagasaki after seeing the bomb in Hiroshima.

Pellegrino served as Cameron's science consultant on "Avatar" and "Titanic," and the director has been interested in adapting this tale for the big screen for more than twenty years.
