Fans of the beloved comic strip and cartoon dog Snoopy criticized the fan page on social media for supporting Donald Trump ahead of the election.
This past weekend, a heated political argument centered upon the legendary Peanuts dog Snoopy. In a social media post that has since been removed, a fan-run page honoring Charlie Brown's doggie friend infuriated the Snoopy fan base by delving deeply into politics and backing former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election in November.
Over 19,000 people followed the now-deleted Snoopy Weekly account on X, formerly known as Twitter. Meme culture has helped the spotted beagle mascot gain popularity once more in recent years, leading to the creation of multiple Snoopy fan pages. But the account in question abandoned the lighthearted antics that were connected to the animated cartoon figure's comeback and adopted a pro-Trump stance instead. In the end, this behavior caused criticism and retaliation from a sizably large segment of the fan base.
