Those called in for the ₹500 crore mobile app scam include Rhea Chakraborty and Elvish Yadav.

Police have called Rhea Chakraborty in connection with an investigation into the HiBox mobile app.

When the HiBox app was released in February 2024, it tricked more than 30,000 users into making financial investments.

The probe is questioning actors Rhea Chakraborty, comedian Bharti Singh, and YouTuber Elvish Yadav in connection with a case involving the HiBox smartphone software, which enticed thousands of people with the promise of large investment returns. In relation to the ₹500 crore fraud, several other social media influencers have also been called in.

Following the receipt of more than 500 complaints from individuals who stated they had spent money on the app after viewing a promotional video from their preferred YouTuber or social media influencer, Delhi Police opened an inquiry.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO) Hemant Tiwari told news agency PTI, "Through the application, the accused promised guaranteed returns of one to five percent daily, amounting to thirty to ninety percent in a month."
