On September 20, Mithlesh Manjhi appeared at the Jamui police station in Bihar with a rifle and posing as an IPS officer (X/@NCIB).




Bihar police looked into 18-year-old Mithlesh Kumar Manjhi's allegations of being conned out of ₹2 lakh after a video of him wearing a police outfit went viral.

The 18-year-old Bihar youngster made news when he revealed that he paid a man ₹2 lakh to get appointed as an IPS officer. He showed up to a local police station in uniform and with a gun. Mithlesh Kumar Manjhi's story went popular on social media after the National Crime Investigation Bureau posted a video of him appearing perplexed in a police outfit.

Many expressed their sympathy for the young man, feeling sorry for him for falling for a con. However, the police have recently asserted that Manjhi may not be as innocent as he appears to be.

Following an investigation, the police in Bihar reported that they had not discovered any proof that Manjhi had paid anyone ₹2 lakh to be hired as a police officer.

On September 20, a young man walked up to the police station in Bihar's Jamui disguised as an IPS officer carrying a gun which was subsequently revealed to be fake. After being arrested, he disclosed that he had been tricked into paying ₹2 lakh to a man called Manoj Singh in exchange for helping him advance to the rank of IPS officer.
