Grammy winner Lizzo talked about her
difficult circumstances and how they molded her in an article that she shared
on Substack.
American musician Lizzo has
discussed the importance of accepting one's identity and body type. In a
Substack essay, she discussed the difficulties she encountered because of her
weight.
In her essay, Lizzo stated, "I
started losing weight in the fall of 2023." "I was really depressed.
I felt as though the entire world had abandoned me after I became embroiled in
a horrible incident. I started having serious suicide thoughts. I severed all
ties with my loved ones.
The Grammy winner then discussed
getting expert assistance and realizing that her weight wasn't necessarily a
bad thing, despite what she had previously believed.
The 37-year-old said in her November 23 post, "After talking to a few
therapists, I discovered that my weight had been a protective shield, a joyful
comfort zone, and even sometimes a superhero suit to protect me through
life."
Lizzo discusses allegations of
weight-shaming and sexual harassment in 2023.
Lizzo mentioned a scandal in which a
group of dancers sued her for allegedly engaging in sexual harassment and
weight-shaming. According to USA Today, the artist has refuted the claims.
Lizzo confessed that in the past,
she would have ordered a lot of food and bingeed on it in response to a similar
circumstance. However, it was not the same this time. She didn't care about
gaining weight, but she also didn't want to use food as a solace. Rather, she
embarked on an exercise regimen.
According to USA Today, Lizzo
declared in January that she had decreased her body fat percentage by 16% and
her BMI by 10.5.
The most recent album by Lizzo
My Face Hurts From Smiling, the
American singer-songwriter's most recent mixtape, was released on June 27.
According to Billboard, it has thirteen songs.
She declared in March that the
recording of her fifth album, Love in Real Life, was complete. The album
featured the Grammy-winning singer's two hit songs, Still Bad and Love in Real
Life, which were released as singles earlier in the year. According to
Billboard, Lizzo stated the project was on hold in September.
