A special screening of the upcoming horror film "The First Omen," which opens on April 5, was held at 20th Century Studios. Critics appreciated the film's "utterly chilling" premise after seeing it.

The first assessments of "The First Omen," a psychological horror movie that serves as a prequel to the beloved horror movie "The Omen," have been released. The film's producers organized a US premiere for a select group of cinema critics and viewers. Following their viewing, they posted their opinions on social media. This is a "worthy prequel," according to some, but it's "not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach," according to others.

"The 1976 version of The Omen had some chilling & controversial scenes, and #TheFirstOmen raises the bar," Screen Rant's Joseph Deckelmeier wrote on X. The movie serves as a valuable precursor to the first one. The First Omen is spooky, frightening, and disconcerting. One particular scenario in particular is sure to get folks talking."

The horror thriller "stunned" Dread Central's Mary Beth McAndrews, who shared on X, saying, "THE FIRST OMEN stunned me." a disturbing and extremely contemplative look at sexual assault in the Catholic Church that retains the suspense of the original movie. I've been waiting for this holy terror. Beautifully disgusting. The First Omen is going to be difficult to top, but I haven't watched Immaculate yet, so I can't compare the two. This is just another excellent illustration of why these stories should be trusted to women in the creative arts (Immaculate is one of those stories; without Sydney Sweeney, it would not exist).
