Universal Pictures has acquired the film rights to Britney Spears' best-selling autobiography, and the Hollywood company revealed on Thursday that a biopic of the pop queen is now in development.

Based on Spears's most recent autobiographical book, "The Woman In Me," "Crazy Rich Asians" filmmaker Jon Chu is attached to develop and helm the movie, the business said in a statement to AFP.
