After being admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Friday morning due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, actor Govinda was released from the facility.

Actor Govinda told his side of the tale to the media for the first time after shooting himself in the leg with a handgun after being released from the hospital. According to him, it was an accident and had nothing to do with anything else.

On Friday, he was released from the Mumbai hospital. His relatives wheeled him out of the hospital in a wheelchair with a cast on his left leg.

"I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the hospital for taking care of me during this critical time," he added, folding his hands to greet the reporters.
