Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma offered his thoughts on the matter following Allu Arjun's release on temporary bail on Saturday morning.
The Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun temporary bail on Saturday after he was taken into custody by the Chikkadapally police in Hyderabad on Friday. This was related to a fan's death during the December 4 premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Here is what Ram Gopal Varma said in response to the news, expressing his belief that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was to blame.

RGV wrote a lengthy message on X (previously Twitter) saying that "everyone" was surprised by what CM Revanth "did this" to Arjun and that he did it to help Pushpa 2: The Rule's collections. "As for everyone's surprise shock over why the Honourable Chief Minister of TELANGANA @revanth_anumala did this to @alluarjun, I believe it was to give the state's favorite son a HUGE PUBLICITY BOOST for a HUGE RISE in #Pushpa2's week 2's collections," he said.
What took place
Alongside co-star Rashmika Mandanna and wife Allu Sneha Reddy, Arjun attended the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4 at Hyderabad's Sandhya Theatre. There was a stampede-like situation among the hundreds of people in the audience due to his arrival. One mother died, and her small kid was critically ill when he was admitted to the hospital. Arjun and the theater management were the targets of a formal complaint from the police, who said they failed to provide advance notice to keep the audience under control.
